Heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms caused landslides in Bac Binh district

(binhthuan.gov.vn) On June 23, 2023, the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue received a quick report from the Commanding Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue of Bac Binh district on the damages caused by local heavy rains, landslide, sand spill on June 20, 2023 in Luong Son town and Hoa Thang commune, Bac Binh district.

Specifically, at about 23:00 on June 20, 2023, in Luong Son town and Hoa Thang commune, Bac Binh district, there were local heavy rains, causing landslides, sand spilled onto the road surface. In which, in Luong Son town, sand spilled onto the road at km 1651+100, km 1658+00, National Highway 1A with a length of about 40m, 8m width, average thickness of about 7cm. Heavy rains also flooded and washed away some areas of people's crops and fruit trees. In Hoa Thang commune, sand spilled onto the road surface DT716 at km 42+400 with a length of about 30m, 5m width, average thickness of about 5cm. Damage is estimated about 120 million VND.

 

Immediately upon the occurrence of a natural disaster, the District People's Committee directed the District Commanding Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue to coordinate with the People's Committees, the Steering Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Search and Rescue of Luong Son town and Hoa Thang commune to coordinate with relevant units to mobilize vehicles and workers to guide traffic and carry out the treatment and cleanup of the amount of soil and sand spilled on the road surface at the above locations to ensure normal traffic.
